It’s been a few months since I returned from my long stay in Africa and wrote my last blog entry. In the meantime I found a new job and became a proud member of the board of the foundation Licht für vergessene Kinder.
As I already told, the project I had proposed was accepted by the board. The first phase, the renovation of the main house, was finished only a few days ago and thus we could move the six full orphans from the old project in. Therefore it was time to officially open our “Children’s Home of Joy”. An event we didn’t want to miss. To celebrate this joyous event, Stefan, president of the foundation, Andy, sponsor of the foundation and I planned to travel back to Uganda. Plus we had even more reasons to leave Switzerland for a couple of days: Some of you may know that we also have another orphanage project in Hyderabad, India that was about to be opened. As we didn’t want to miss that either, we decided to travel to India to open “Mothers Nest” as well.
Whew, I was going to travel back to Africa and also to India! We planned to do this trip in only 8 days! An incredible 22’000 km by plane and 1’500 km by car, but it was going to be fantastic anyway!
