Travelling back – Equator Experience – Entebbe – Chopalwor

All journeys have to end one day and so did ours. We had to go back to Entebbe for Suzie had to fly back home. On the way we stopped at the place where we crossed the Equator again. They draw a line showing where the Equator is supposed to be directly into a restaurant. One of the staff then demonstrated the so called Equator Experience. On the southern hemisphere the water would swirl counter-clockwise in contrast to the northern hemisphere where it would swirl clockwise. Amazingly the water doesn’t swirl at all directly on the Equator! Impressive!

After that we continued our journey and checked-in at a hotel in Entebbe as I had to stay there overnight. After lunch and some resting time we took Suzie to the airport.

Good bye Suzie, thank you very much for bringing the magic box of games, for playing with the kids and for sharing this amazing Safari with me!

Nelson then took me to a very nice Italian restaurant, directly at the beach at Lake Victoria. Sand, palm trees, the lake, nice temperature, a cool drink… what more does one want? A bit later we met the chef of the restaurant who formerly worked with Nelson at a lodge. He was a nice guy and prepared wonderful fish Masala with Ciabattis. The best food I had since I came to Africa! Really! Then Nelson took me back to the hotel.

Good night, Entebbe!

After breakfast Nelson picked me up to bring me back to the Eco-farm in Chopalwor. Another long drive through Kampala, the Capital city of Uganda which usually is a pretty messy place. As it was Sunday we managed to just drive through without being jammed. We stopped in Luwero at a beautiful market to buy some fruits for Nelson’s family and also to bring some to the farm and then again at Nelsons shop in Bweyale to buy cigarettes for Claudia. Then we arrived at the farm.

Thank you very much Suzie and Nelson and all the nice people we’ve met for that fantastic journey! I’m looking forward to going on another Safari in July!
