A couple of weeks ago Suzie and I unpacked the magic game box in Chopalwor where I had lived for almost 5 months. After a fantastic afternoon we promised the kids to come back in July to play with them again. They kept on asking when we would return over and over again since. But as promised we returned for another afternoon.
As we had announced to come playing this time we were already expected when we arrived at the store in the village. We put the box in the store and placed the desk at the entrance so that the kids could not make a run on the games. Suzie started to unpack the box and prepare the games for use while I hung some photos that I had taken last time. In the meantime some kids played football with a self-made ball. Then we started with the juggling plates again and the kids immediately recalled to straighten their index finger when starting to juggle the plates. Then we handed over some other games like the diabolos or the devil sticks. We soon ran out of games as there were so many kids, young adults and parents around. At times it became quite messy but it was so cool to see that the kids handed the toys over to the ones who didn’t have any toy after a while. It was also a bit difficult to take pictures as the kids tried to hop in front of the camera whenever I tried to take pictures.
We played for two hours or so when some neighbour complained about the noise we were making. As it was already getting dark we asked everyone to return the games and with a little help from Norman (a villager) everything was soon packed into the magic game box.
We took some final pictures with a few of the villagers before we went back home to the Eco-Farm.
I was a bit sad as this was my good bye to Chopalwor as I would leave in a couple of days. But it was again so great to seeing all those people from the village again.
Thank you Chopalwor an amazing time and good bye, I will miss you guys…
While we prepared everything some kids played football
the ball was kicked on the roof once in a while
looking out of the store while preparing the games… sooo many kids!
villagers watching some photos that I had taken last time we played
at times the amount of people was a bit overwhelming, but we’ve managed
