Oh no, not another food blog-entry! Of course! :-)
So, Claudia left me all alone at the farm today as she had to deliver food to a lodge and also do some other stuff in Masindi. She left me with nothing but a couple of almost rotten tomatoes and chilies that she had to sort out when she had prepared the goods for delivery. Ok, there were some Spaghettis in the cupboard, so my inner voice was telling me to make some pasta with tomato sauce… Let’s go prepare some onions, garlic, chilis, carrots, chili pepper… Whoops, no, first I needed to prepare the charcoal grill which would take some time… but after that I would chop the vegetables.
Later in the afternoon I felt like having some bread along with my supper. So I also prepared dough to make unleavened bread in the frying pan. As I had never done this before I tasted the first one with some of the tomato sauce and it was very nice. That’s when I decided to change my plans and eat Pizza instead of pasta… And there she was, my first African Pizza… without cheese but it still tasted good!
Did it really taste good or have I just become increasingly undemanding after these few weeks here?
first I prepared some tomato sauce…
then I prepared a dough to make some bread…
that I needed to fry in the frying pan as there is no oven here…
then I put the tomato sauce on top of the bread and my African pizza was ready…
